Using the renewable materials bamboo and mycelium, the team presents a spatial structure whose geometry is based on polyhedral forms and force diagrams. The MycoTree is a vision for how we can move beyond the extraction of building materials to their cultivation and growth. It demonstrates how digital design, technology and alternative resources can come together to challenge current building practices and propose more sustainable approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-query is-layout-flow wp-block-query-is-layout-flow\"><ul class=\"wp-block-post-template is-layout-flow wp-block-post-template-is-layout-flow\"><li class=\"wp-block-post post-8899 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-exhibitions category-mycelium category-mycotree\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-post-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nb.ieb.kit.edu\/index.php\/mycotree-in-the-natural-history-museum-in-karlsruhe\/\" target=\"_self\" >MycoTree in the Natural History Museum in Karlsruhe<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt\"><p class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt__excerpt\">As part of the 17th &#8222;Karlsruher Frischpilzausstellung&#8220; of the Natural History Museum in Karlsruhe, the MycoTree was exhibited in the pavilion in the Nymphengarten on the 8th and 9th October. The exhibition displayed 250-300 species of mushrooms and presented various literature on mushrooms.
