The one-day symposium\u00a0is part of our work in the\u00a0Future Cities Lab (FCL)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0research programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is being organized by the\u00a0Block Research Group (ETH)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the chair of Digital Building Technologies (ETH<\/strong>)<\/a>, in collaboration with the chairs of\u00a0Prof. Hortense Le Ferrand<\/strong>\u00a0from NTU Singapore and\u00a0Prof. Dirk Hebel\u00a0<\/strong>from KIT Karlsruhe, with support from the\u00a0Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0ALIVE,\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0Holcim Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our module BIO \u2013 Urban Biocycles Mycelium Digitalisation<\/strong> brings together researchers from the Block Research Group (ETH)<\/strong>, the chair of Digital Building Technologies (ETH)<\/strong>, Singapore (NTU),<\/strong> and Karlsruhe (KIT)<\/strong> to develop, utilize, and assess mycelium-bound composite materials in building construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event aims to inspire new conversations regarding circularity in architecture and gauge the barriers and opportunities in utilizing bio-materials, with a focus on mycelium-based materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each panel proposes a mix of experts in order to provide perspective on the industry<\/strong> and on the challenges and opportunities<\/strong> in utilizing mycelium-based<\/strong> materials in building construction and architectural applications<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
