Circular Construction Joining Technology
Development of a Selection Methodology for the Designof Architectural Components in the Context of the Circular Economy

The research investigates circular construction by understanding joining technology as an organizational and systemic rather than a purely material decision. It focuses on how the logic of construction systems determines reversibility, disassembly and reuse. Based on this, a selection methodology for systematic planning in architecture is developed, enabling architects to specifically select building systems according to their circular performance and circular strategy.

NOW AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE: BUILDING SORTED BY TYPE
CIRCULAR CONSTRUCTION METHODS Full landfills, ambitious climate targets: By 2050, the European Union wants to introduce a comprehensive circular economy. For the turnaround in construction to succeed, material resources must be fully reused and recycled. Pure and low-polluting building materials that are used in reversible component connections and are simply joined are the basic prerequisite…

Seminar: Circular component analysis
The deconstruction friendliness of a construction and the reusability of materials are decisive parameters for circular planning and building. For high-quality recycling and reuse of materials, material layers as well as components must be planned and installed in a detachable way. The aim of the seminar is to determine the qualitative material value of a…
